California Wildfires:The Governor of California proclaimed a State of Emergency to exist in Los Angeles and Ventura Counties due to the fires and windstorm conditions. The effective date is January 7, 2025 and the expiration date is February 6, 2024 (unless extended).Proclamation of a State of EmergencyPrescription replacements and emergency refills: Currently, the ESI Emergency Access to Benefits program is in effect. This is a strategy that enables retail pharmacists to override select benefit edits and allow a script to process earlier than standard during a government defined emergency. Affected members within the emergency area taking specialty medications will be contacted to discuss alternate delivery arrangements, if needed. This process will remain on in impacted counties for the duration of the executive orders.Mental health services: California is working closely with county behavioral health plans and local programs to ensure continued access to critical behavioral health services. Those who need support can reach out to the CalHOPE Warm Line by calling (833)-317-HOPE (4673) (English) and (833)-642-7696 (Spanish). The CalHOPE Warm Line is a 24/7 peer run hotline that provides free, confidential emotional support to Californians, including those impacted by the Southern California wildfires. Severe Winter WeatherSeveral Oscar states have declared a State of Emergency which allows for state officials to make critical resources available to communities ahead of any potential storm impacts.
