NEW YORK and WESTWOOD, Kan. Oscar, a leading health insurance company, and Centrus Health Kansas City, a physician-led, clinically integrated network (CIN), are continuing their partnership into a second year to offer Oscar Individual and Family health insurance plans in two counties in Kansas and three counties in Missouri beginning in 2021, pending regulatory approval. Oscar and Centrus Health Kansas City launched their partnership in 2019 to offer plans in the greater Kansas City metro. “Centrus Health KC appreciates Oscar’s work to align their benefit package to achieve the best health and lowest cost for their members. So often insurance companies strive for low cost then fail to offer a menu of benefits to support that goal. Given the impact of COVID layoffs, our community needs affordable individual and family health insurance plans now more than ever,” said Centrus Health Kansas City Executive Director Jill Watson. “Oscar shares our commitment to improve the quality of health care and lower the cost of patient care across the entire continuum.”“We look forward to continuing our partnership with Centrus Health of Kansas City as a way of extending access to affordable, personalized care for Kansas City residents,” said Tamara Ward, Oscar Regional VP. “At Oscar, we are constantly looking for ways to reduce cost and eliminate barriers to receiving necessary care for our members, a commitment that we share with our partner Centrus KC.”15% percent of Kansas residents and 17% of Missouri residents do not currently have health insurance, including 43,000 and 100,000 people who have lost their coverage along with their employment during the COVID-19 pandemic, respectively. Through the Oscar and Centrus partnership, more Kansas City consumers have access to a seamlessly connected clinical and insurance experience driven by the combination of Centrus Health Kansas City’s leading network of providers and Oscar’s consumer-centric, tech-driven approach to customer service and care navigation. During the upcoming Open Enrollment period, Kansas City residents in the following counties will be able to purchase Oscar Individual and Family health plans which include affordable coverage of Centrus Health Kansas City’s network of high-quality providers and services: Johnson and Wyandotte (KS) and Clay, Jackson and Platte (MO).
